Dave Levy/Mike Davis/Phil Barth

Description

Storytelling is a popular topic today. Professional speakers and business professionals are frequently encouraged to share their narrative to gain trust, increase influence and earn business. But, many people struggle to create and deliver stories that get the results they want. This leads to feeling annoyed, frustrated, and disillusioned with storytelling. You can avoid these feelings and increase your influence every time you tell your story.

Join Phil Barth, David Levy, and Michael Davis as they share their storytelling experiences to help improve your narratives. Between them, they have won six District International Speech contests, three District Evaluation competitions, three District Humorous Speech contest titles, and in 2011, Phil competed in the Finals of the World Championship of Public Speaking. Phil is a humorous keynote speaker, David has worked with over 250 storytellers during his 13 years of producing True Theatre and is an accomplished Toastmaster and actor, and Michael is a Certified Speaking coach, author of eight storytelling books and is the founder of Speaking CPR.

In their informative and interactive session, you’ll receive the following insights:

  • How to effectively create a memorable experience that leaves your audience wanting more;

  • The key elements of unforgettable stories;

  • Best of all, the majority of this event will include live coaching.

Bring your story and you may receive in-depth, on-the-spot coaching to improve your stories. When you walk out of the session you will have actionable ideas you can immediately put to use in your next story. Join us and discover how you can increase your influence and impact every time you present.

Dave Levy has been in Toastmasters since 2010. He joined in order to practice storytelling, with his dream being to one day share a story on stage a an event by The Moth (a popular storytelling show). In 2017, Dave achieved that dream. In the meantime (and since), he has also spoken before hundreds of people in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, married a couple of friends at the U.S.-Ambassador-to-Italy's mansion in Rome, and has delivered several educational breakout sessions at conferences and TLIs... all things he never would have done had it not been for Toastmasters. Not long after joining, Dave (along with a friend) also embarked on the founding of a storytelling show in Cincinnati (True Theatre - "true stories told by real people") and has subsequently produced over 60 performances and worked with nearly 300 individuals, helping them to prepare and deliver their stories to a live audience at these events.

Michael Davis works with professionals to attract more clients, create efficient teams, and increase their influence through improved speaking skills. His passion for his work was born when he was threatened with a job loss because of his poor speaking skills. With the help of elite professional speakers, he discovered how to become an influential presenter. Michael has trained speakers on five continents and written 7 storytelling books. He’s a speaker, trainer, and the founder of Speaking CPR. He lives in Ohio with his partner Linda, and the overlords of their house, Sky and Riley the Super Chihuahuas.

In August 2001, Phil Barth wandered in to a Toastmasters meeting in West Chester Ohio.  He signed up that night. Phil was in the World Championship of Public Speaking finals in 2011. In 2018 he finished second to World Champion Ramona Smith – in the semi-finals. In 2015 he was in the semi-finals but wound up having a heart attack one week before the semis. Hey, more speech material! Phil’s recovery from that heart attack sent him on a path of self-discovery and stress reduction that is the focus of his best sort of selling book: “Great Things Happen Every Day”.
